“In my distress I called to the LORD,
and he answered me.” (Psalm 120:1, ESV)
Psalm 120 is the first of the Songs of Ascents—a collection of psalms sung by God’s people as they made their pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Those traveling to the appointed feasts would often sing this psalm on their way to the house of God. It is fitting that the first psalm of ascent speaks of distress, for being far from the presence of God is indeed distressing for God’s children. The image is instructive: the pilgrim who is still far from the temple often feels anguish. Such is the experience of the Christian on the journey toward the heavenly homeland. Just as fitting as the first line of the psalm is the second: we are pilgrims on our way to meet a God who answers. His promises are sure, and his covenant love seems to know no geographical limits for the psalmist. He journeys with the confidence that he will meet the God who answers.
Thank you for walking alongside us and showing your love in so many ways. But we thank you especially for praying for us to the God who answers. Your prayers have been—and continue to be—a great encouragement to us on our pilgrimage, and we pray that ours for you may be the same.

- We are very excited to share our plans for the future. We have developed a project to return to Argentina as missionaries, and we are currently seeking ministry and financial support. - Our church, St Lawrence, has begun many evangelistic projects this year. We especially ask for your prayers for the people who have joined the church in recent months (more than twenty!). May the Lord work in their lives, and may we rejoice in his salvation.
- Lastly, please pray for Delfi’s health. Over the past few months she has been dealing with anemia, which has brought several physical difficulties. By God’s grace, she is receiving medical care and her body is steadily improving.
