“But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.” (Hebrews 2:9)
Dear friends, we hope you are well as this year comes to an end. The author of Hebrews reflects on both the wonder and the pain of the world we live in. See the wonder: God has crowned us with glory and honor (v. 7)—he has placed everything under our feet (v. 8), and has given us everything we need to make this world the best place of all. See the pain: at present, we do not see (v. 8) this world is the best place of all—or perhaps more accurately, we see it only partially. At times we do, at times we don’t. But we do see him, Jesus, willing to be made lower than the angels in order to taste death for everyone, becoming one of us to restore the glory and honor we were never meant to lose. We pray this Christmas season each of you may see Jesus and find in him a firm and lasting hope.
Thank you so much for your prayers and for all the support you continually show us. We value it deeply. We would like to share some updates so you can both to give thanks and continue praying for us:
- October and November have been months full of evangelistic activities, and many people have been coming to church. We thank the Lord for each of them and pray that he would continue to bless the efforts of our beloved St Lawrence.
- Last month we said goodbye to Mark D. (pastor of St Martin’s) and his family. Mark will continue his ministry in the south of England. We are grateful for their lives and pray that the Lord would grant a smooth transition for the whole family.
- By God’s grace, we were able to finish all the assignments we needed to complete for our seminary courses.
- Our return to Argentina is planned for next year, and we are very excited. Next month we will begin working on a plan for returning to Argentina. We ask for your prayers—that the Lord would give us wisdom regarding several decisions we need to make: moving, finding ministry support, and considering the possibility of returning as missionaries.
- We also ask for prayer for the Bertín family, Argentine missionaries in Chile. The Bertins will be returning to Argentina this coming January with the desire to serve the Lord in our country.
- Training in Argentina with the Yapura family: over the past few months we have been running some online preaching workshops to train people in Argentina. These workshops are accompanied by a series of videos and reading resources. The training cycle will be completed in person in Argentina by Agus in the coming days.
